Twisha Sharma Death Case

A Bhopal court on Monday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of lawyer Samarth Singh, who is accused of physically and mentally harassing his wife, Twisha Sharma, who was recently found dead at their residence.

Twisha Sharma, a Noida resident, had married Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh five months ago after the two met through a dating app.

Sharma’s family has accused her in-laws of domestic violence and continuous harassment, holding them responsible for her death. The family has also demanded a second post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

An FIR has been registered at Katara Hills police station, and Singh along with his mother have been booked in connection with a dowry harassment case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Pallavi Dwivedi rejected Singh’s anticipatory bail plea. Police said he is currently absconding.

Twisha Sharma, a former Miss Pune winner, was married into a family with judicial connections. Samarth Singh is a lawyer, while his mother, Giribala Singh, is a retired judge and currently serves as the President of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

Giribala Singh was granted anticipatory bail by a sessions court on May 15.
