Gurugram: Former international kabaddi player and Arjuna Award recipient Ram Mehar Singh took charge as the new Deputy Director of Sports for the Gurugram Division on Friday. Ram Mehar Singh had previously served in Gurugram from July 5, 2021, to December 31, 2021.
After assuming office, Singh said that promoting sports across the division would be his top priority. He said the government is continuously working to provide better facilities to athletes, and ensuring that every player in the state benefits from these schemes and facilities would remain a key focus.
He added that special attention would be given to providing essential sports equipment at the department’s training centres in Gurugram, Rewari, Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh, and Mahendragarh districts, which fall under the Gurugram Division.
