In a case of assault and robbery of a cab driver in the Bhondsi police station area of Gurugram, the Sohna Crime Branch has arrested two robbers. The accused have been identified as Mukesh (25) and Suraj (22), residents of Imliya village in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the complaint filed by the victim cab driver, on October 15, he had gone to the pickup location after receiving a booking for the airport. Three men boarded his cab. On the way, near Sector 69, they stopped the car to buy liquor from a shop and started drinking.
Meanwhile, one of the men said that he had forgotten his passport and requested to return. They even changed the ride destination in the app, and the driver took them back to the same place from where he had picked them up.
A little while later, one of the passengers sitting at the back covered the driver’s face with a piece of cloth and started beating him. They pushed him out of the car and fled with his vehicle and mobile phone. Based on the complaint, the Bhondsi police registered a case and began investigation.
During police interrogation, the accused revealed that Mukesh and Suraj, along with their other associates, had planned to rob the car. Accused Suraj works as a taxi driver in Gurugram, while Mukesh is currently unemployed. Both were looking for an opportunity to sell the stolen car and mobile phone. The police are continuing further investigation into the case.
