Gurugram has seen yet another alarming spike in road mishaps, with two individuals, including an elderly resident, sustaining injuries in distinct incidents.
First Incident: Hit-and-Run in Sector-10A
On the evening of March 18, 83-year-old Harbans Lal Taneja was strolling in a lane in Sector-10A when a speeding motorcycle struck him. The rider fled the scene, leaving the victim seriously hurt. He was first taken to a civil hospital before being shifted to a private facility for advanced treatment.
Second Incident: Collision Near Rajiv Chowk
On April 2, Vinod Sharma from Hans Enclave in Sector-32 was riding his scooter from Sector-34 towards Delhi. An unidentified vehicle rammed into him on the service lane near Rajiv Chowk flyover, fracturing four of his ribs and his shoulder bone.
Police Response and Ongoing Probe
Police have filed FIRs against the unknown drivers at Sector-10 and Civil Lines stations, with Head Constable Deepak and Parmvir leading the investigations. Efforts include reviewing CCTV footage, though complaints were lodged days after the crashes.
