Gurugram: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP) carried out a demolition drive against illegal constructions in Sector 47. Officials stated that unauthorized structures identified across around 32 sectors will be removed.
On Monday, HSVP teams, along with heavy police presence, reached Sector 47 and used bulldozers to demolish illegally built structures. Several temporary constructions, sheds, walls, and roadside encroachments were cleared during the operation.
Earlier, similar actions were taken in parts of Sector 45, Sector 47, and Sector 51, where illegal structures were removed to free up public spaces.
According to officials, the drive is being conducted under the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Five separate teams have been formed and assigned responsibilities sector-wise. The campaign will continue across different sectors for about 10 days.
The operation had previously been delayed due to administrative reasons. It was scheduled to begin on April 27 but could not start on time due to the absence of a duty magistrate. Authorities have now decided to continue the drive without interruption to complete the action within the set timeline. A survey has already been conducted, and a list of illegal constructions has been prepared.
