Gurugram: The road network will be strengthened and green areas will be developed across sectors connected to New Gurugram and Dwarka Expressway. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has accelerated work on six development projects worth ₹101.04 crore. The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for these projects are currently in the final stage.
GMDA is improving master roads in rapidly developing sectors of the city in a phased manner. With the increasing population and rising traffic pressure in new sectors connected to Dwarka Expressway, plans are being prepared to upgrade the master road infrastructure. Once completed, these projects will provide better connectivity for local residents.
Greenbelts to Be Developed
Under the plan, a 1.80-km-long service road along the dividing road of sectors 102 and 102A will be improved at a cost of around ₹19.32 crore. A 1.30-km service road will also be constructed along Master Road 99/102, along with greenbelt development, at an estimated cost of ₹15.32 crore.
Similarly, a service road will be built along the dividing road of sectors 106 and 109. The 1.85-km road development project will cost approximately ₹20.63 crore.
Rainwater Harvesting Systems to Be Installed
Additionally, the main carriageway, service road, and greenbelt will be developed on the 1.4-km-long road between sectors 110A and 111 at an estimated cost of ₹25.63 crore. The upgrade of a 1.30-km stretch of Master Road 99/102 is also included, with an expenditure of around ₹12.60 crore.
A greenbelt will also be developed along the 1.80-km road dividing sectors 103 and 106. The project will include greenery, fencing, and rainwater harvesting systems at a cost of nearly ₹7.51 crore.
After completion of these projects, the road network in these sectors will become more organized and efficient.
According to GMDA Chief Engineer Hemant Yadav, DPRs for the proposed development works in New Gurugram have been prepared. After approval from the CEO, work on these projects will begin soon. The projects include construction of master roads and service roads, road upgrades, and greenbelt development. These improvements will make traffic movement smoother and strengthen the area’s infrastructure.
